Construction accreditation & H&S documentation

Your accreditation is a paperwork exam.
We sit it for you.

Constructionline, CHAS, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Acclaim all assess the same thing: whether your documents say what the assessor needs them to say. We run an accredited repair and maintenance contractor on housing association frameworks — we complete these applications for our own business before we complete them for yours.

What we do

Applications completed in full, not advised on

You send your company details and certificates. We write what is missing, complete the online application question by question, and answer assessor queries until it is resolved. Every document is issued in your company name, with your logo, for your director's signature.

SSIP accreditation

CHAS, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe or Acclaim. Gap review against the question set, health and safety policy written or updated, risk assessments and COSHH produced, assessment completed and submitted.

Constructionline

Silver, Gold or Platinum, including the Common Assessment Standard evidence behind it. The Gold checklist runs to roughly seventy items — anti-bribery, modern slavery, FIR, ESG, cyber, drug and alcohol, training matrix, three years of accident figures. We build the pack.

Risk assessments & method statements

Site specific RAMS written for your task, your site, your plant and your people. UK format, CDM 2015 aligned, built to survive a principal contractor's review rather than a template with your name dropped into it.

Construction phase plans

Required under CDM 2015 regulation 12 before the construction phase begins on every notifiable project. Duty holders, F10, site rules, welfare, sequencing, traffic management and the significant risks for your works.

Health & safety policy and arrangements

The policy, the arrangements manual and the organisational responsibilities — in the format every scheme expects, signed and dated by your director, and written so it still passes next year's review.

Annual renewal

Every scheme renews at twelve months and forces a full document refresh whether your business changed or not. Policies re-dated and re-signed, certificates and accounts swapped, accident figures updated, resubmitted.

Ranked by how often we see it

Why applications get rejected

Almost none of these are about how you actually work on site. They are about what the paperwork can prove on the day the assessor opens it.

01

A policy that was not reviewed within the last twelve months

Every mandatory policy has to show a review date inside twelve months, a director's approval and evidence it was communicated to staff. An undated policy from three years ago fails on sight.

02

Risk assessments that do not match the work you do

Assessors want two site-specific risk assessments and two COSHH assessments dated within twelve months. A generic pack covering trades you have never carried out is worse than none.

03

An expired insurance certificate

Employers' liability, public liability and, where relevant, professional indemnity. One lapsed date stops the whole submission, and the clock keeps running while you find the renewal.

04

No accident and RIDDOR figures

Three years of statistics are expected, including nil returns. "We have never had an accident" is not an answer — the assessor wants the numbers and the recording system behind them.

05

No named competent health and safety advice

You need a named source of competent advice, their credentials, and dated examples of advice actually given. A certificate on the wall does not cover it.

06

A training matrix with no expiry dates

Cards and tickets listed without expiry dates read as unmanaged. The matrix has to show what expires when, and what happens before it does.

How it runs

Three steps, and you are only involved in two

STEP 01

Send what you hold

Company details, insurance certificates, accounts, and any policies or risk assessments you already have. We tell you free of charge exactly what is missing and what will fail before you commit to anything.

STEP 02

We build and submit

We write the documents in your company name with your logo, complete the portal question by question, and send you the pack for your director's signature. Nothing is submitted without your approval.

STEP 03

We handle the queries

Assessors come back with questions on most first submissions. We answer them and resubmit until it is resolved. If it is rejected on something we prepared, we fix it at no extra cost.

Set a reminder for month eleven

Accreditation is not a thing you win once. Every scheme renews at twelve months, and the rules force a full policy refresh even if nothing in your business has changed. Most companies that get rejected at renewal passed comfortably the year before. We will remind you six weeks out.

Straight answers

Questions we get asked before ordering

Do you guarantee I will pass?
No, and be careful of anyone who does. Nobody controls an assessor's decision. What we control is whether anything is missing, out of date or contradictory before it goes in, and whether every query gets answered. If an application is rejected on something we prepared, we fix it and resubmit at no extra cost.
Which accreditation do I actually need?
Whichever one your client named. If nobody has specified, main contractors and housing associations usually want Constructionline Gold or an SSIP scheme such as CHAS. Tell us who asked and what work you do and we will tell you which one before you spend anything.
Will the documents be in my company name?
Yes. Every policy, procedure, risk assessment and COSHH assessment is written in your company name, carries your logo, and is issued to you for your director's signature. You own them and can keep using them on tenders and in site packs.
Do you need access to my portal account?
Yes for the full application service. You keep control of the login and can change the password once the work is finished. Nothing is submitted without your approval — we fill everything in and you check it before it goes.
How long does it take?
Around five working days for a straightforward application where your documents are already in order, and ten to fourteen where policies and risk assessments need writing from scratch. The usual delay is waiting on insurance certificates and accounts from your side.
Does the price include the scheme's own fee?
No. You pay the scheme directly — that keeps the account in your name and means you are never locked to us. As a guide, Constructionline starts around £220 a year and CHAS runs from roughly £429 to £909 depending on tier.

Free document check

Send what you hold. We will tell you what fails.

No charge and no obligation. It takes us about twenty minutes to read a document set and tell you where it stands, and it saves you paying for work you do not need.

We will reply within one working day. Do not send passwords or portal logins by email — we request access securely once work starts.
